October 14, 2023 – Enterhealth earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® Accreditation (for residential detox, residential, outpatient, and mental health) by demonstrating continuous compliance with its performance standards. The Gold Seal is a symbol of quality that reflects a health care organization’s commitment to providing safe and quality patient care. Accreditations are three-year awards, and Enterhealth was awarded one in 2020 and 2017 as well.
A team of Joint Commission reviewers thoroughly evaluated Enterhealth Ranch and The Enterhealth Outpatient Center of Excellence. During the visits, the representatives evaluated Enterhealth’s compliance with its standards, which span several areas within the Mental Health Program and the Addiction Recovery Program, including infection control, environmental safety, detox protocols, plan of care, risk assessment, and nursing procedures. The surveyors also conducted onsite observations and interviews.
The Joint Commission’s standards are developed in conjunction with health care experts and providers, measurement experts and patients. They are informed by scientific literature and expert consensus and are designed to help health care organizations measure, assess and improve performance.
“As a private accreditor, The Joint Commission surveys health care organizations to protect the public by identifying deficiencies in care and working with those organizations to correct them as quickly and sustainably as possible,” says Mark Pelletier, RN, MS, chief operating officer, Accreditation and Certification Operations, and chief nursing executive, The Joint Commission. “We commend Enterhealth for its continuous quality improvement efforts in patient safety and quality of care.”
